Journal, 1865-1866.

A journal kept by Thomas Greaves Cary, Jr. of a trip to Uruguay in 1865-6 to collect fish, insect, and small animal specimens for "the Museum," presumably Harvard's Museum of Comparative Zoology. Cary wrote that he traveled to Montevideo, Uruguay, in order to gather information for the use of Professor Louis Agassiz, his brother-in-law, who was then on an expedition to Brazil, in case the Professor decided to visit the River Plate (Rio de la Plata).
